Epic Games is doing is doing something unreal (see what I did there?) and starting a new studio in Baltimore bringing together the best of Big Huge Games into the Epic Games fold. You can read more details on the new studio and give mad love to Epic for doing a solid in the gaming industry. It’s great to see those guys land on their feet and also hopefully begin work on some new Epic games.

This is good news indeed!!

It’s our first giveaway! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time just for all you guys that have stuck with us for so long and for all our new followers as well. So what’s up for grabs…
Lego Star War III: Clone Wars on the Xbox 360.
ICO & Shadow Of The Colossus on the Playstation 3 (obviously).
There are a couple rules to how you can win one of these two games:
1: You can reblog as many times you like. Likes do not count to being in the running to win.
2: You don’t have to be following Favourite Gaming Momemts but it is very much appreciated.
I will be messaging two randomly picked winners in a week’s time. Then you can specify which game you would like, and if this goes well then you might see some more giveaways in the future. There are no shipping restrictions either. So the contest ends June 10th. Good luck everybody!

I guess people wanted to see the Horde/Ally capital things in Pandaria. There pretty, although part of me was hoping for whole cities.

It is now 4 am and Final Fantasy 7 is still only at 39 percent.

I don’t understand what make PSN so unbearably slow.

I don’t know why, but I laughed way to hard at this.

Gah, Psn is so slow.

I started downloading Final Fantasy 7 at like 9 and its now 1:48 am and its still only at 27%.

375MB/1352MB

Gah. This same size download on my laptop would have been done hours ago. It would have taken about 10 mins. I know because plenty of 1gb downloads finish that fast on my laptop, what gives?

Gaming habits.

WARNING: Wall of text, probably boring if you’re not into video games, or even if you are.

Bored of Diablo 3. Not that it’s a bad game or anything, I think it’s great (though it has a lot of problems, some of them I don’t even think the community has noticed). The real problem is that I have a timed cutoff on the diminishing marginal returns of enjoyment that video games provide, and for some reason this cutoff happens to be almost exactly 2 weeks.

Take Skyrim for example. I loved the fuck out of Oblivion, even though that game had a myriad of issues, and I was extremely excited for Skyrim. I picked the game up, and it delivered. I honestly played probably 10-12 hours a day everyday for 2 weeks, and probably would’ve been more everyday if it wasn’t during school.

Once that 2 week mark hits though…I’m done. An internal switch goes off magically in my head that says “I’d probably have more fun doing something else now,” and once I touch the game again, I can’t stand to play it for more than an hour. It’s somewhat frustrating, as I’ve always considered myself to have a completionist mind-state, and set out to mark every location on my map, do every sidequest, etc. I plan on doing this, but once that 2 week mark hits, I pretty much just say fuck it, even though I promised myself I would get as much out of the game as possible.

The same thing has happened once again with Diablo. I have played the shit out of this game for the past couple weeks, and when I wasn’t playing it, I was studying it and reading about it. Once this Tuesday hit though, (2 weeks on the dot), I simply stopped cold turkey, and I don’t really care about going back. Even if I’m only 1 act and a half away from beating Inferno. It has nothing to do with the game, it’s just me.

I’ve come to realize I’m just not the kind of person who can stick with playing one game anymore. I certainly used to be; I spent a good few years devoted to Halo 2, Smash Bros., and WoW. Not anymore. From now on I need to be realistic on my expectations as far as game completion goes, and should probably check out more games on steam and stuff instead of pretending like I’m going to play one game the entire summer (Diablo). Kind of a shame considering it’s the first game in a long time that a lot of my friends are playing (who aren’t usual/hardcore gamers), but I’m just done.

Holy Crap, thats how I was with Skyrim. I played the crap out of it for two weeks, logged 120 hours on one character, but then after that I simply couldn’t play it anymore. I certainly tried, I could pop the disc in walk around, stare at the enviroments, and all that, but I just couldn’t play it. 5-10 mins at a time was all I could do.

The same isn’t said for other games though. If the game has difficulty to it I have to play in smaller increments that extend the lifespan of the game. Say Dark Souls for example I played that game on and off for months. I would log maybe 2-4 hours a week. At most 15 a month. I crawled through it (never beat it as I got rid of my xbox.) That’s what I am doing with Diablo because I want to beat inferno and not get burnt out. I slamed through Normal, and now I do it smaller doses every few days. An hour here, 3 hours there, that sort of thing.

This is the Alliance main city in Pandaria, the shrine of seven stars. It is layed out the same way as the Horde city, although there are a few aesthetic differences.

It has an Auction House, a Bank, a Reforger, a Flight Master, Profession trainers and an Inn.

It does not have class trainers, Valor/Justice vendors a transmog guy, or access to Trade Chat.

Soo, Monks have a glyph called ‘Zen Flying’ that summons a cloud beneath them to fly on.. and it works in Pandaria before 90 at the moment. Though, it is slow as hell.

Just bought Final Fantasy 7 off of PSN

Maybe I can actually beat it now that I’m older and know what the hell I’m doing in video games.
